「10回続けるよ」といつからか言い始めたこの取り組みも、第5回目…ということは、今年で折り返しの記念回です。それぞれのなりゆきで集まった人たちのご縁が、ゆかいに絡み合い、あちらこちらで思いがけない出会いと展開を生み出していく。そんな私たちのミラクルなのになんでもない「のっぴ」*な時間をぜひ仲本拡史監督のあたたかな視点の映像でご覧ください。
今年も参加してくださった皆さん、支えてくださった皆さん、本当にありがとうございました。
*「のっぴ (ngupi)」とはアチェ地方の方言で特に用事がなくとも仲間と集いコーヒーをすすることの意味です。
Somewhere along the way, we started saying, “Let’s keep this going for ten years.”
This year marked the 5th of Let’s Ride the Waves on 3.11, bringing us to the halfway point of that journey. People gather here, each following their own path. As they spend time together, their stories gently intertwine, leading to unexpected encounters, new friendships, and collaborations that continue to ripple outward long after the day has ended. What makes this gathering so special is that these moments feel both quietly miraculous and completely ordinary at the same time. We call this kind of time ngupi*.

We warmly invite you to experience this year’s gathering through the archive film.
To everyone who joined us, and to everyone who has supported this journey over the years—thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn’t have done it without you.
*Ngupi is a word from Aceh, Indonesia. It describes the simple act of gathering with friends over a cup of coffee, even when there’s no particular reason or agenda.

自転車で旅するジャーナリストのCherise Fongさんが、フランス発のオンラインメディア MAKERY Magazine に、「3月11日に波に乗ろう（2025年）」での体験をとても丁寧に記事にしてくれました。

ahhh, indeed, reading this, even the chimney in Iwasawa feels like a giant quietly watching over us. Acually….. I met one of those calm, majestic dragons this morning! yey! The sea, the dragons, and Cherise—thank you to all of them.

10年続けると宣言した「３月１１日に波に乗ろう」。今年は何と５回め！もう半分？の開催となります。とはいえ、いつも通りngupi（ノッピ）な時間を過ごせたらと思っています。(ngupiはアチェの方言で何となく集いコーヒーをすすってダラダラすることーー最高形！！)

開きっぱなしの三原ディレクションにより、前日の３月１０日は、それぞれがやりたい事を進めてくれています。有機的な私たちらしいふつふつとした発酵をお楽しみください。飛び込み参加大歓迎です。
11日は、サーフィンや食事の都合上予約をお願いしています。ご都合に合わせてご参加ください。
今年は何がおこるのかな。お会いできる事を、みんなで楽しみにしています！

we declared that we would continue “let’s ride a wave on march 11” for ten years—and this year marks the fifth edition! halfway there already? either way, we hope, as always, to spend some truly ngupi time together. (ngupi is a word from the aceh dialect meaning to casually gather, sip coffee, and just hang out—basically, the best possible way to be.)

with soichiro’s wide-open, free-flowing direction, on march 10 (the day before), we will be moving forward with whatever we feel like doing. enjoy this quietly bubbling, organic fermentation that feels so much like us. drop-ins are very welcome. on march 11, we ask that you make a reservation in advance. join us in whatever way suits your schedule! looking forward to seeing you!

はらぺこ＆ヒデシェフランチ

3月11日に波に乗ろう」は、三原聡一郎がカルチュラル・プラットフォーム「縁側の家」（福島県広野町）に立ち寄った際に、集うサーファー達に誘われて波に乗り、美味しいご飯と共に語り合ったことをきっかけとして2022年に始まりました。特別に感じた一日がこの地の日常だと気づいた時、3月11日を誰もが参加できる日にしてみようと実感しました。年ごとに小さな変化を加えながら、向こう10年間はこのイベントを続けようと考えております。地元からも遠方からも国籍や年齢も性別も様々な人達が3月11日にそれぞれの思いを馳せて集います。いつの日かこのイベントが僕らの手を離れて継続されることを一つの目標としています。イベントの前半は参加者全員で福島県浜通りの浜で波にのります（見学のみでも大丈夫です！）。もちろん未経験者・初心者でも大丈夫なように、サーフィン未経験者向けのレッスンを活用致します。当日、サーフィンに適さない天候となった場合でも、安全な範囲で海に入り、波を掴む感覚を探ります。その後、イベントの後半として、皆で「縁側の家」に移動し、美味しいランチと共にそれぞれの3月11日を振り返ってみたいと思います。

サーフィンと食、ツーリズム、アートが交差するユニークな楽しさと学びに満ちたイベントのこれまでの様子は映像アーカイブからご確認できます。

イベント前日の3月10日（月） 夕方より前夜祭を開催します。参加は自由です。前夜祭は昨年度から開催していますが、前乗りで多くの方に参加者していただいております。スケジュールやコンテンツは以下の通りです。当日は縁側の家に直接お集まりください。

今年も温かく素敵な時間が流れた「3月11日に波に乗ろう」。前夜祭、3月11日、さらに翌日まで何と素晴らしい時間であったことか。野草や竹と戯れ、地中や海底に思いを馳せ、時＝生命の営みを知ったようなやはり分からないような。。そんな素晴らしき日々でした。本会は深い意味はなく、ただただ3月11日に集い、サーフィンをし、美味しい食事を食べ、ダラダラと過ごすためだけの会です。そんな時間を、もしよろしければ、ぜひご共有ください！まずは仲本拡史監督による20分のハイライト映像をどうぞ。
そして、何と本作が台北当代芸術館で開催中の展覧会「安全室-safe room」（会期：5月24日~9月7日）のイベントとして8月23日に上映されるとか！本当でしょうか！

let’s ride a wave on 3.11 was once again filled with warmth and beautiful moments this year. from the evening before, through march 11, and into the next day, we shared a magical stretch of time — playing with wild herbs and bamboo, reflecting on the earth and seabed, and sensing the flow of time and life itself .

as we always say, this event carries no deep meaning — just surfing together on march 11, enjoying good food, and spending good time with one another. if you’d like, come experience our “nothing special” days by checking out a 20-minute highlight reel by hirofumi nakamoto.

and guess what — the film will be screened for one day only on august 23 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MoCA), as part of the exhibition safe room (may 24–sep.7). can you believe it?

追伸：今年はさらに岩沢サーフコミュニティのレジェンド、関根乃さん、坂本巌さん、鈴木一司さんにお話いただいた「岩沢海岸発見史」のアーカイブ映像制作も進行中です。仲間愛とサーフィン愛に満ちた珠玉の物語です。どうぞ楽しみにお待ちください。
p.s. we’re also working on an archive film, the history of discovering iwasawa beach, featuring legendary members of the iwasawa surf community — mr. osamu sekine, mr. gan sakamoto, and mr. katsuji suzuki. a gem of a story, full of surfing spirit and deep friendship. stay tuned!

今年で第4回を迎えるこの会は、まるで会そのものが意思を持つ有機体のようです。自由奔放な展開を繰り広げ、その連なりを私はわくわくしながら目撃しています。
共同主催者の三原聡一郎さんは、ご近所の冨岡小学校の(ときどき）転校生となり、嬉々としてワタナベ農園でネギと里芋を掘り、魔法使いのような津嘉山裕美さんは、その傍らで野草をガシガシと採取。もうひとりの共同主催者の松谷容作さんは、サーフィンの波待ち中に天啓を受けたかのような輝やかしい表情を見せ、その好奇心で岩沢海岸発見物語を見つけました。そして地元の学校にみんなでお出かけしてスカウトしたり。楽しかったなーーそんなこんなでまとまった今年のプログラムです。以下リンクでどうぞご覧ください！

one co-organizer, soichiro mihara, has fully embraced local life—becoming the “new kid” at tomioka elementary, cheerfully digging up leeks at watanabe farm, and foraging for wild plants with pure glee. the magical hiromi tsukayama, like a playful wizard, happily forages wild herbs with gusto wherever she goes! meanwhile, the other co-organizer, yosaku matsutani, had what seemed like a stroke of divine inspiration while waiting for waves during a surf session. with his curious, researcher-like mind, he unearthed fascinating stories about discoveries at iwasawa beach. together, we even headed out to local schools for some scouting. what an adventure it’s been! this year’s program is brimming with exciting highlights. check out all the details at the link below!

青木裕介 (Circulation) 監督撮影による2024年の「3月11日に波に乗ろう」記録作品が完成しました。青木監督は広野町出身ー広野幼稚園・広野小学校・広野中学校に通った生粋の広野っ子（縁側の家の高橋姉弟もそうです）で、現在はご自身が主宰する「多世代交流スペースぷらっとあっと」や「ひろのパソコン教室」を拠点に、この浜通り地方を元気にする活動を多角的に展開しています。
40名ほどの参加者が集った今年の「3月11日に波に乗ろう」は２日間の長丁場。各々の思惑で偶然に集った人々が一緒にサーフィンをし、食事をし、ゆるやかにつながりまた散っていくーそんな「ngupi（アチェのスラングで目的もなく集いダラダラするの意味）」な時間が、青木監督の優しい眼差しにより作品となりました。私たちの最高なダラダラっぷりをぜひご覧ください!

寒い中、遠路はるばる福島まで来てくださった参加・協力者の皆様、そしていつも温かく見守り支えてくれる友、仲間、家族に心からの感謝を。

今年の「3月11日に波に乗ろう」は初の２日間のプログラム。スタッフ・関係者を合わせると40名ほどの人々が集い、この日を共有したことになります。遠くから来てくれる方々が多いので、イベント終了後には、果たしてどうだったのだろうかといつも気になります。
そんな時、写真家の東詩歩さんが当日の写真とイベントレポートを送ってくれたのです。そこには（主催者としてこの上ない喜びを感じる）詩歩さんの才気あふれる考察と視点がありました。こうしてつながり広がっていくのかと、しみじみとうれしい思いでいます。

The Little Garden/山田祥充君が宮崎の仲間と共に全国４ヶ所でツアーを敢行。その最終地に縁側の家を選んでくれました。最高！
出演ミュージシャンはまこちゃんとKentarowさん（もしかしたら祥充君も？）。まだお会いしたことのないお二人ですが、音楽やミュージックビデオを聴いて、すでにファンになっています。そして、お二人ともサーファーなんだって！
昼間はみんなでサーフィン、夕方から音楽 & ひでシェフのフードを堪能する良き夜といきましょう！南風だと良いな。今からもうワクワクしています。
祥充君から地元のみんなへのプレゼントの一夜です。きっと優しく素敵な時間になリますね。
