以前から楽しみに聴いていたポッドキャスト「こちら福島放送室」にお邪魔してきました。「こちら福島放送室」は、2011年の東日本大震災後に福島県浜通りへ移り住んだ東京出身の山本曉甫さん（NPO法人インビジブル理事長）と、一般社団法人双葉郡地域観光研究協会（F-ATRAs）代表であり、双葉町町議会議員でもある山根辰洋さんが、この地域で活動する人たちとの対話を通して、多様な視点から浜通りを学び続けるポッドキャストです。
曉甫さんのお誘いにそわそわと出かけると「それが言いたかった！」と察しよくリズミカルに受け止めてくれるお二人にのせられ、なんと全4回のながーい収録になってしまいました。それなのに！父をヒーローにしたてた母・みっちゃんとの素敵すぎる日々（夏はおふろでラムネとか）について話しそびれていたのでした。とほほ。私にとって染みこみすぎて言葉に出てこなかったみっちゃんイズム──楽しくおいしく何でも応援──こそが縁側の家につながる大切な原点だったのだと思います。
ホストのお二人との対話、そしてお二人自身の活動からもたくさんの刺激をいただきました。のんびりとしていながら芯のあるこの浜通り。この私たちらしさを大切にしながら、みんなでここで生きていきたいと改めて感じています。

I recently had the pleasure of joining four episodes of the podcast Kochira Fukushima Hōsōshitsu, a show I’ve genuinely enjoyed listening to for quite some time.
The podcast is hosted by Akio Yamamoto, originally from Tokyo and now living in Hamadori, Fukushima since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 (Chair of the NPO inVisible), and Tatsuhiro Yamane, Representative of the F-ATRAs and a member of the Futaba Town Council. Through conversations with people active across the region, they continue exploring Hamadori from many different perspectives.
When Akio invited me to join, I immediately thought, “That sounds fun!” and happily headed over.
With their lively rhythm and remarkable ability to catch exactly what I was trying to say—even before I had fully found the words—I somehow ended up talking and talking… and before we knew it, our conversation had grown into four full episodes. Oops.
Afterward, I realized there was one important thing I had completely forgotten to mention: my mother, Micchan. She was the one who quietly turned my father into the hero of our family while he spent so much of his life away at sea. Somehow, those beautiful everyday moments with her were so deeply woven into who I am that they never occurred to me to talk about. Looking back now, I realize that my mother’s way of embracing life—with joy, good food, and unwavering encouragement—was one of the true foundations of engawanoie.
Talking with Akio and Tatsuhiro—and learning from the work they continue to do—left me feeling deeply inspired. Hamadori has own energy. It reminded me how much I want to keep nurturing that spirit, together with the people who call this place home.
It’s a rather long conversation (mostly because I tend to wander from one story to another!), so perhaps it’s best enjoyed while taking a walk, driving a long distance, or simply listening in the background while doing something else.
Akio, Tatsuhiro—thank you so much for such a wonderful conversation. I truly enjoyed every minute of it, and I’m looking forward to many more conversations in the future.
